New Personal Branding Photos
Kayla is a solopreneur Loan Originator at Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation and came to me in need of branded materials for her business. She has been wanting to brand herself in a way that helps her to connect with her future clients. Her goal was to be authentic, honest, approachable and welcoming. Her visuals that she wanted to include were the color green for both the business color as well as her love for the PNW, the compass a symbol that represents her drive and wooden signs that have her branding words.
Kayla needed more than just the traditional headshots, while traditional headshots are perfect for those profile images, about me pages and introductory photos, but she required more than just the headshots. The goal was to get photos of her being herself, she is a very friendly person and we wanted that to be featured in her photos. Adding those little things to her photos like drinking a PNW themed mug help to show her love for our beautiful state as well as showing her being a person who enjoys a warm cup of tea or coffee while she works.
While for this session we only were at her office location, I did take the chance to take her outside in front of the building to get a few natural greenery photos. With being outdoors I wanted a little more of a natural friendly laughing vibe to be featured. Once again that was to showcase her welcoming personality and love for the outdoors.
So you have these wonderful personally branded photos that are tailored to your aesthetic look, you’ve got your personality and stories that help connect with your target market, but now what?! How do you use these photos? Step one is replacing all your website stock or place holder photos and updating your social media profile photos and about me photos with the new photos taken from the session.
Step two is to start incorporating the new photos on your social media platforms and blog posts. Here are some posting ideas to start talking about to help you connect with your target market. Use your branding words, is being authentic important to showcase who you are? In the header for in instagram post could be “I value authenticity in my life” and then support that with a personal story, or share a win that you had from being authentic, share why it is important to you and people will connect with those words. Then ask a follow up question that goes with the words you just wrote. You want to get people to engage in your post and also continue to engage in the comments with them. Show people that you are a real authentic person yourself and continue to connect with them. Lastly follow up that post with using one of the photos that feature that.
Other topics to write about are sharing your wins, client testimonials, your why for doing what you do, how you got started, talk about yourself and share tips and teach them something. Keep on rotating these post ideas over and over again, and even retelling in different ways. Also side note, you can reuse photos on your feed. You don’t need to only use them one time. It takes people a few times to commit and remember.
