Business Owners Personal Brand's With an Outdoor Story
What do all of these business owners have in common? A part of their personal brand talks about their love for nature within their business. While we all are business owners, we are more than just our business and in my last blog post I talked about Personal Branding Stories. I highly recommend you check out that blog post and read more about it. This post is all about the Outdoor Story piece and each business owner brought their own story to their brand. Many of them still have some similar themes of relaxation, grounding, mediation and nature lover.
My initial plan was going to be just one location, however I couldn't make the decision between Kirkland and North Bend so I choose to do both locations. I had 2 amazing women business owners at each location and each pair matched each other's energy perfectly! I'm very happy with how both locations went, each one was soul filling!
For each location I'll link each of the women, their businesses and even talk about their induvial shoots within a group setting.
Location: O.O. Denny Park in Kirkland, WA
The Kirkland photoshoot was the total pilot shoot. I had this idea of a max of 5 women business owners walking together to get photos for their outdoor personal branding stories for their business. The intention was to walk the trail an stop at pretty areas and take photos. Each person could choose to take photos at that location or wait till the next spot. I did have every person fill out a questionnaire so I did have ideas of general location ideas for each person.

Laura has a very vibrant personality, she choose the bright pink well for her branding colors. However, we always have different parts to our personalities and even those higher presenting energies have their quiet moments. This session for Laura was all about bringing the breath and still moments to her branding visuals. We still got some wonderful big smiles and during the whole session and the 3 of use had lots of great laughs.

Rachel is real estate matchmaker pairing the right homes to the right qualified buyers. She is also co-founder of Eastside EntrepreneuHERs a networking group for business women on the Eastside of Seattle.
For Rachels photos we focused on her love of nature and we couldn't help picking up some rocks from her geology education she had prior to real estate and teaching. We had to infuse her fun personality within her images.
Location: "Gateway" Suspension Bridge in North Bend, WA
This North Bend location is the perfect place for the spiritual business owners, the ones that want to add sitting in the moss (my favorite are). I also got a new prism and was able to add rainbows in a few outdoor headshot images. While I loved the Kirkland location as well, this area totally has my heart and I know a little bit of why too. It reminds me of my childhood and going to my grandparents house. The winding roads to the location, the raging river and deep forests. While it does add a slight stress I like that there is pretty much no cell service in this area, it is so nice to have to disconnect and truly focus on being in nature with my camera and 2 amazing business ladies.
This North Bend photoshoot location had a different vibe. We had a little more of an introspective and meditative vibe throughout the entire shoot. Still lots of excitement and laughs through it all.
Georgie Coote Coaching

Georgie is a coach that works with business owners, individuals and also has the option to go into nature to do coaching sessions.
Michelle the other attendee was so gracious in joining in fully capturing Georgie's vision for her photos. We adding journaling, tarot cards, nature coaching and lifestyle outdoor headshots. The tarot card toss took a few takes to get and some photoshopping on my end, but it turned out to be a very cool image.
Michelle Miller owner of Minty Made
Website: https://www.mintymade.com/home
Michelle is the owner of Minty Made a sustainable branding and web design for businesses making a difference.
I've known and networked with Michelle for almost 2 years now and I've always respected her personal and business mission. To be able to capture her in her element and embracing the images of being within nature was magical. She was very adventurous in changing outfits outside and getting into the freezing river.
Have you thought about going in nature to get your own personal branding photos taken?
Taking photos in nature is a very magical experience, a lot of it is just finding the right spot and seeing what is happening in that season and light in the woods. These sessions tend to be a little organic in that respect, I've got an idea of what each business owner needs and wants for their images, but any of the image ideas happen as I'm seeing the space as it is in that time.
