Everett, WA Branding Photoshoot Making a Change with Womb-centric Genealogy

Sometimes you have to take the "traditional way" and make it untraditional and your own. Leah at Wildfire Genealogy is doing just this. She doesn't like the fact that woman are just being assigned a number and she refuses to fall into the patriarchic way of doing this research. But more than just doing a family tree, she also works with the food of the family and does group moon rituals. It's bloodlines, wombs, maps, seed, kitchens and rituals. It is this all encompassing fiery passion making changes. It is taking the recipes of her grandmothers and revamping them into fitting her now. And it is also embracing the rituals she created as a child and bringing it all together to create her own wild and unguided business model.

Every photoshoot I take has isn't own special little place in my heart as being memorable and amazing. With Leah's photoshoot is was this positive, supportive and carefree energy surrounding our whole entire shoot time.

She invited 3 other amazing friends to model as her "client" part of her business model. Her sessions actually inspired my preview blog post Adding a Client To Your Shoot. However I wanted her session to have it's own post and featuring more of her wonderful images. These 3 supportive woman helped to create an energy and environment that added ease to everything. We had all of these 3 ladies that at anytime we could ask to assist us in what we needed. They even took some fantastic behind the scenes photos for us that helped to drum up the excitement on both of our social media accounts.

Another part of her photos, is Leah didn't want perfection. If you look in the background you can see an unmade bed, unfolded clothes, and counters uncleared (although some was cleared, just not everything). The reason why she wanted to leave things and even feature unfolded clothes was because of her ideal market, she wants to work with busy mom's who may not have everything all cleaned and makeup applied before they do a video call. She wants to relate to the everyday woman in this and show that it is ok to not be perfect.

The stories for her session were:

Her ritual space which she talks about on her website in her About Me page.

Research at the kitchen table

The spring table spread, this will be for her gatherings

The kitchen, food is a big part of her family history. Growing and cooking.

Her garden ritual space, this will also be a moon ritual space and adding cleansing smoke.

Adding others, this was preparing a meal for them, talking with them while cooking and working with them.

I hope you enjoy viewing Leah's images as much as I enjoyed taking them and seeing her use them on her website and Instagram page. Nothing makes me more happy then to see my images being used and the photos helping their business.

My biggest takeaway during this session and from Leah, was embrace your beautiful self! Break the traditions of what you think is expected of you and be your unapologetic real self.

“I do want to note that using your photos have already increased my social media engagement. I have started to really attract soul clients even taking a quieter week to catch up! I have also had clients reach back out after an email and comment on the photo I included.”
